Rufus Huggan is a cellist and composer from Scotland, who lives and works in Glasgow. He writes and performs regularly with the string quartet Routes, folk trio Snuffbox and blues songwriter Mick Edgar.
Taught by Wendy Wetherby and Ronald Shaw in the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, he now teaches various instruments around the city.
Rufus’ compositions and songs have been played on radio and performed abroad. His music written for the Embers Suite, commissioned in tribute to the late BBC composer Thomas Wilson, was met with warm review.
